Our speciality is Risograph and Gocco printing - affordable, eco-friendly print with a unique aesthetic. We exist to support young people. Any funds we make help us to provide training opportunities for young people with barriers to employment, and support young artists with their creative projects.
Every time you use our print service for your flyers, totes, posters or publications, you're helping a young illustrator to produce their first comic, funding a traineeship for a young person with additional support needs, and supporting a new artist with their first exhibition.Rice ink, recycled paper and 90% less energy than photocopying - our riso is the greenest printer in the world.
Print locally and reduce your carbon footprint while keeping your pennies circulating in the local economy. We're proud to subsidise print costs for young people, to help make it easier to get your artwork out into the world.

RISO is a low-cost, eco-friendly print process with a unique aesthetic.
Invented in 80s Japan as a duplicator for schools and offices, RISO is now really popular with graphic designers, artists and illustrators.
Once each master is made, the machine can reproduce thousands of copies very quickly and cheaply.
It's best used for runs of 50+ prints, as most of the cost is in making the masters (extra prints cost pennies!)
Think of it as mechanical screenprinting.
The machine makes a 'master' stencil of your artwork and wraps it around the ink drum.

Any areas that are black onscreen will be printed with full ink density, and any lighter areas will be printed in paler shades.
A two-colour print in blue and orange requires two PDF files - one file with all the blue artwork and one with all the orange artwork (both greyscale!)
Include a blank 10mm margin at the edge of the page, and tile any smaller artwork onto an A3 sheet.
Booklets require a slightly different setup as they need to be paginated before print.
This means laying out each page side-by-side, so the front cover is next to the back cover.

Gocco is a machine that produces screens which we can use to screenprint with.
Created by the RISO company, it works in a similar way to the risograph, producing a 'master' stencil from a PDF of your artwork.
The main difference is that instead of wrapping the master around an ink drum, we attach the stencil to a metal frame to make a flat screen.
Once the screen is made, we can then use it to hand-print on fabric, card or other surfaces.
With Gocco you're not restricted to specific ink colours.

Risograph print prices vary depending on how many ink colours are used, how many copies you need, and other factors such as the paper stock and any trimming needed.
Most of the cost is in the initial setup, so we recommend ordering 50+ prints as that's when it starts getting most economical.
Like prints, booklets vary depending on how many ink colours are used, how many copies you need, and other factors such as the paper stock.
We also need to know how many pages your booklet has, including the front and back covers.
