When we set up Indigo in the summer of 1992 offering our humble printing services to the baying crowds of Trafford Park, Manchester (!) and beyond we never would have guessed that we'd be doing it 20 years later.
That was the plan of course, but who'd have guessed.
In those days a two colour Ryobi press and a single colour GTO was all that was needed.
Nowadays, if you were to term us as simply Printers in Manchester, you'd be doing us a disservice as we offer a variety of print related services that focus on what clients need for their business, and we produce it.

The team at Indigo take our environmental concerns seriously and know it is an ongoing commitment to work in sustainable manner.
Way before it became fashionable to work in this way we have been doing the following at our Manchester headquarters since 2001:.
Using a high amount of recycled paper produce which now accounts for about 40% of our overall use.
Working with paper companies that have a sustainable working process in place to supply us.
Working with manufacturers that apply ISO 140001 environmental management standards where possible.

The most common method of production for mass quantity printing is through lithographic print.
As one of most well established printers in Manchester, we offer full colour printing; single colour printing, two colour printing, Pantone spot colour printing and special metallic spot colour printing services in house, providing our clients all the options they need to get their artwork printed accurately and cost effectively.
Lithographic - or litho -printing - as it's most commonly referred to uses plates to expose various parts of an image which transfer ink to sheets of paper or card, via a series of rollers.

The majority of commercial artwork that is sent to us is produced as four colour process (in reference to the inks used).
Printing in four colour process produces full colour documents hence why it is also popularly known as full colour printing.
To get the full spectrum of colours available on a job, a printer will use all four of the process colours on their press.
Process colours are made up of Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Black inks, shortened to CMYK.
For a full colour image produced on our litho press for instance, there would be four printing plates each affixed with image separations of CMYK respectively to four printing units.
