Crop Marks applied to the artwork show the guillotine operator where to cutting, the printing press will have lots of A4's on it.
This means that when printed they all need 'cropping' (cutting) on a guillotine.
A 'bleed' is an extension of the artwork over the A4 (or any artwork) size.
