By 1886 the company was Smith and Pankhurst.
The company was responsible for the re-launch of the Bicester Advertiser in 1879.
In 1917 this paper absorbed the Bicester Herald and published the Bicester Almanac and Directory.
The Pankhurst family sold The Bicester Advertiser to the current Oxford-based owners, and their son Brian Pankhurst carried on the printing tradition under the new name of Bicester Print.
