Have you ever wondered how digital printing works?
The term is thrown around a lot but do you know what it is?
Are you are curious to find out more and how we can give you such high-quality work every single time.
Digital Printing is a term which defines how ink is printed directly onto a substrate.
The method of digital printing is a very similar process to how your home colour printer works, but on a larger format.
The printer normally prints in 4 colour process (CMYK), which is made up of C (Cyan), M (Magenta), Y (Yellow) and K (Black); the image is split in to these primary colours and prints as a set of patterns or percentages of each colour to make up the desired image; for example, if you print 100% Yellow and 100% Magenta, the colour will be Red.
When you've previously ordered a product that was printed via lithography, have you ever wanted to know how lithographic printing works?
What it is and its origins?
Here at Reflex Print Store understand your customers want to understand more about what we do; so here is a quick overview of our service, lithographic printing, so you can explain the process to your customers.
Lithography comes from the Greek words, 'Lithos' meaning 'stone and Graphein' meaning 'to write'.
Back then the stones would have been carved and used like a stencil.
If you need any guidance in preparing your files for us to print from we have two artwork guides below.
If you follow these guides and have any more questions, the information below has some answers to FAQ.
When printing on to clear materials we often print with white ink.
The white ink is used as an opaque base to reduce transparency.
If no white ink is printed, coloured areas will appear translucent, similar to a stained glass window.
There are two options for printing white ink: 'Overall white' or 'Selective white'.
Nicholas Eveleigh, head of marketing at Mcgregor Boyall, contacted us wanting an advertising solution for their company which was more eye-catching and different than their normal posters.
He wanted something to stand out for some advertising space which was situated in Canary Wharf.
We have produced many different coasters over the years.
Recently though, we produce some for a children's nursing home which we thought were great due to their colourful and bright yet simple design.
All of our coasters are produced on Clear PVC which is mark resistant.
